For the first time, as a part of the CLEAR GRAND project, a joint training session of the Oklahoma Water Watch and Blue Thumb was conducted in the Grand Lake area in October 2005. Close to 20 new volunteers were trained to monitor both the lake and incoming streams that feed the lake. Indoor activities (presentations and water analysis) were held at the Grand Lake Association Visitor Center. Water Watch field demonstrations took place in boats provided by GRDA, launched from the Cherokee Queen boat docks. Blue Thumb filed demonstrations took place on Honey Creek.
